WHAT WILL BE COVERED AT THE HOLIDAY CAMP?
ON COURT SKILLS
1. SHOOTING TECHNIQUE
Our focus is to ensure we teach you what you need for the upcoming year (and beyond). Leaving our Holiday Camp, you will have learnt the correct form and technique to shoot the lights out! If you are already a confident shooter, these sessions will give you a renewed confidence and ability to put the ball in the rim!
2. LAY-UP FINISHES AND FOOTWORK
Our focus at our October Future Camp will also be on teaching a variety of finishes. We will start basic and then move on to ensure you are capable of executing these finishes with both hands under game pressure.
3. DECISION MAKING
Decision making is a very important part of the game at all levels of basketball. This camp we will be ensuring that players will walk away with a strong understanding between a great shot and a bad shot and how to put yourself in the best position to achieve this successfully.
OFF COURT SKILLS
1. POSITIVE ENCOURAGEMENT
This camp we will be playing fun games and competitions off the court to demonstrate the importance of positive encouragement. We believe that positive encouragement is one of the easiest ways to build a strong relationship between team members and also creates a very fun and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.
2. RESPECT
We have noticed that during our camps, it is beneficial for both coaches and players to have a great relationship. We believe that acknowledging and listening to each other is a great way to build respect with one another.
3. RESPONSIBILITY
At the saints camp, we are always about being disciplined in being on time, having a clean and tidy gym. Players attending camp will learn the importance of these values at the Saints basketball Holiday Camp.
